About the role

Medtronic’s Acute Care & Monitoring (ACM) business partners with the global healthcare community to solve clinically meaningful problems through remote patient monitoring, blood oxygen management, respiratory compromise, and perioperative complications. This Product Owner role supports our Digital Health portfolio, servicing US Veterans Affairs and hospitals by owning software solutions that enable clinicians to remotely monitor veterans with chronic conditions in their homes or commercially in the hospital. You will work with the Product Design team to advance existing technology or introduce new solutions in Digital Health, collaborating with stakeholders to understand needs, prioritize features, and deliver value.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for intake of needs from Marketing and close collaboration with customers to understand value and define problems to solve.
  • Engage deeply with customers to build desired feature behavior based on feedback and ensure Agile Releases build the right things the right way.
  • Partner with Marketing to apply a customer-centric mindset and design thinking tools to deliver solutions that are desirable, viable, feasible, and sustainable.
  • Understand prioritized themes, vision, product roadmap, and quantified value from Marketing.
  • Identify and define problems to solve using design thinking principles.
  • Manage and prioritize the team backlog to align with customer and stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate with architects to define technical and design discovery required for features.
  • Intake input, feedback, and insights from customers, stakeholders, and the scrum team to evaluate value and make informed decisions.
  • Work with Business Analysts to ensure solutions are understood and aligned to features.
  • Partner with UI/UX Designers to ensure designs meet customer needs.
  • Drive innovation in the Digital Health portfolio by engaging systems thinking and leveraging cross-disciplinary, globally distributed teams.
  • Collaborate with leaders to ensure successful development, release, and launch of world-class products.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years of experience in systems, digital, or software development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in systems, digital, or software development with a proven track record.
  • Experience in the medical device industry or other regulated product industries.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology.
  • Experience in 5+ major product or portfolio releases.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex system behaviors, engineering problems, technical and architectural constraints.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an aptitude for influencing others.
