Product Owner / Business Analyst

Full-time regular position with up to 10% continental US travel.

About the role

As a DSLM Product Owner/Business Analyst, you will manage software backlog using VersionOne &/or JIRA for multiple mission systems, assist the software team to meet sprint goals, and interact and collaborate with government customers, stakeholders, and DSLM internal functional areas. You will stay engaged with the progress of each sprint, keep your team empowered, and make decisive, knowledgeable decisions. Each system may have different government customers, requiring high organization and self-motivation. You must be able to speak publicly at formal meetings, participate in technical discussions, and collaborate with government representatives to set priorities, report metrics, and meet system and contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple releases simultaneously while managing team goals, backlog, schedules, and reporting
• Support proposal development, including defining objectives, estimates, risks, and assumptions; upon proposal award, manage software effort in coordination with the project manager
• Ensure efforts meet all contractual obligations and timelines
• Establish prioritization, coordinate with end users and customers to finalize scope
• Facilitate product backlog grooming sessions and sprint planning meetings

Requirements

• US Citizen with DoD Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience or equivalent combination
• Experience performing Agile Scrum Software Development Methodology as a Product Owner
• Business Analyst experience specifically for software projects
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Experience defining meeting agendas, facilitating meetings, and documenting meeting minutes
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle and software requirements management
• Strong team player with ability to apply analytical, interpretive, evaluative, constructive, and creative thinking skills in variable situations
• Innovative problem solver with strong customer focus while maintaining the integrity of the contract
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with internal teams, cross-functional departments, and external customers
• Comfortable reading and reviewing project schedules in MS Project

Skills

• Experience with proposal writing (desired)
• Experience on DoD programs and interaction with government stakeholders; SCN experience is a plus (desired)
• Experience using COTS tools: VersionOne &/or JIRA, GitHub, SharePoint (desired)
• Experience initiating and leading process improvement efforts (desired)
• Experience creating schedules in MS Project and running multiple releases/supporting multiple projects simultaneously (desired)

Pay

The proposed salary range for this position is $63,300–$129,700. Final salary is influenced by factors such as geographic location, federal government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education, and certifications.
