Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in product ownership or a similar role
- High degree of organizational skills
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills with both clients and internal teammates
- Able to manage multiple projects at one time
- Able to inspire and influence members of the product and development team
- Willingness to take initiative and innovate on existing products and processes
- Enjoys collaboration and has a team mindset
- Agency experience and scrum certification a plus
Product Owner Responsibilities
- Amplify the voice of the client as well as offer interpretation of client needs
- Work with clients to analyze business needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals
- Research and analyze the client's market, product users, and the roadmap for the project
- Identify and write epics, features, and user stories
- Define backlog items that guide the agile development teams
- Continually learn with the team through collaboration
- Collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of a product
- Participate in technical conversations surrounding application products with members of the development team
- Lead story workshop sessions
- Write acceptance criteria for user stories during sprint planning
- Be ready to make product-related decisions and be accountable for those decisions
- Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on tasks that are aligned with product strategy
- Develop and maintain a prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation
- Determine timeframes for completion of backlog items, ensuring alignment with the product’s overall strategy
- Write and maintain user documentation for products
- The primary contact for questions related to the product
- Develop detailed specifications for the product features so they are clearly understood by the development team
- Work in alignment with agile practices as well as learn and grow in your understanding of agile project management
