Product Owner - AI Platform

About the role

We are partnering with a leading life‑insurance organization to find a Product Owner who will drive a major transformation within their Benefits division. The team is building a new AI‑enabled platform from the ground up to support core business processes across the division. This is an AI‑first operating platform intended to transform how key processes are delivered.

Key platform functional areas

• Underwriting
• Intake and onboarding
• Claims processing
• Policy Administration (PAS)
• Broker portal capabilities

Responsibilities

• Own product delivery for a complex, AI‑first platform transformation.
• Collaborate with business and engineering teams to define, prioritize, and execute product features.
• Manage competing priorities and navigate stakeholder relationships throughout the build.
• Translate business needs into actionable product backlog items and ensure timely delivery.
• Help bring capabilities previously managed by an external vendor in‑house, establishing new internal product and delivery practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in complex platform environments.
• Hands‑on product delivery track record.
• Experience with AI‑enabled products or platforms is highly desirable.
• Insurance industry experience is beneficial but not required; focus is on successful AI implementation within products, workflows, or operational processes.
• Ability to operate autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and bridge business‑engineering relationships.
