About the role

The Product Optimizer and Fiber Optimizer positions are responsible for managing and maintaining equipment used in glass fiberization processes to ensure quality Chopped Strand products. These roles require adherence to safety policies and procedures, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Cleans infrastructure and process equipment.
  • Removes glass fibers and other foreign matter.
  • Conducts safety and housekeeping audits.
  • Maintains workplace organization.
  • Addresses unsafe conditions.
  • Addresses environmental incidents.
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures.
  • Manages glass transformation, glass curing, and packaging effectiveness.
  • Manages chopped strand transportation to include conveyors, PK units, etc.
  • Maintains the hold material database.
  • Manages hold material to include retesting, repacking, inventory, etc.
  • Demonstrates teamwork by working cooperatively with team members.
  • Minimizes process downtime.
  • Participates on continuous improvement work teams and supports trials.
  • Improves performance metrics.
  • Identifies process problems/causes and seeks solutions.
  • Maintains communications.
  • Sustains effective team communications.
  • Assists in resolving supplier complaints related to process parts, packaging materials, etc.
  • Participates in daily team huddles.

Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively. Must be able to operate various types of equipment and tools. Must be able to follow safety procedures and policies.

Qualifications

Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Skills

Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills. Basic computer skills. Knowledge of safety procedures and policies. Proficiency with basic hand tools and equipment.

Pay

$25.61 POP for the Product Optimizer role and $28.96 FOP for the Fiber Optimizer role.

Schedule

Hours may vary based on production needs. Shifts may include day, evening, and weekend work.
