Product Operator Cook 3rd shift

Doumak, Inc. is The Marshmallow Company. Founded in 1921, it is a leading producer of marshmallows sold under the Campfire® and Fireside® brands, and for private label. Our two Chicago-area facilities provide bagged regular and miniature marshmallows for distribution worldwide through wholesale, retail grocery, and food service channels.

About the role

The Production Product Operator position is divided into 3 parts: the cooking, extrusion, and traying off/dumping.

• The cooking process uses kettles with proper amounts of raw materials to form table product.
• The operator oversees the extrusion process to ensure proper size and crust.
• The operator trays off overflow product or dumps product onto lines needing more product.
• All operators assist each other with changeovers, cleanups, and general maintenance of the cook room and starch room.
• All operators ensure a quality marshmallow is produced and presented to the packaging machines.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor cooking, extrusion, and traying processes.
• Assist with changeovers, cleanups, and general maintenance.
• Ensure production of high-quality marshmallows.
• Perform tasks requiring regular lifting of up to 40 pounds.

Requirements

• High School diploma.
• Ability to read and write English and understand basic math.
• Work experience in a food manufacturing environment, confectionary preferred.
• Must be able to regularly lift 40 pounds.
• Willingness to work weekends when required (overtime and double time pay will apply).

Pay

$18.00 hourly rate / Union Environment:

• After one year of employment: $19.00 hourly rate
• After two years of employment: $20.00 hourly rate
• After three years of employment: $21.00 hourly rate
• After four years of employment: $21.00 hourly rate
• After five years: full scale pay

Schedule

3rd Shift (11:00 pm to 7:00 am) - Sunday through Thursday
