About the role
The Senior Lifecycle Marketing Strategist will lead the development and execution of customer lifecycle strategies supporting DIRECTV's Genre Pack subscriber base. This role is responsible for identifying opportunities that improve customer engagement, increase subscriber retention, reduce churn, drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and maximize customer lifetime value through personalized marketing experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop lifecycle marketing strategies that improve customer engagement, subscriber retention, revenue growth, upsell, cross-sell, and churn mitigation.
- Build strategic roadmaps that identify opportunities to enhance the customer experience through automation, personalization, and data-driven decision making.
- Develop business cases, testing strategies, measurement plans, and initiative roadmaps that align with enterprise marketing objectives.
- Partner with Product, CRM, Engineering, Analytics, Governance, Engagement Marketing, and Revenue Marketing teams to deliver strategic initiatives.
- Leverage CRM platforms and marketing automation technologies to create personalized customer journeys and scalable lifecycle programs.
- Utilize customer insights, behavioral analytics, segmentation, campaign performance, and business intelligence to identify new opportunities and optimize existing programs.
- Lead experimentation efforts through A/B testing, personalization strategies, offer optimization, and journey enhancements.
- Establish KPIs and measurement frameworks to evaluate engagement, subscriber retention, revenue growth, campaign performance, and customer lifetime value.
- Present recommendations, strategic roadmaps, business cases, and program updates to senior marketing leadership, including Director, AVP, and VP stakeholders.
- Proactively identify operational improvements, automation opportunities, and scalable marketing capabilities that drive enterprise value.
- Manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously while maintaining alignment across cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Educational background: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Economics, Analytics, or a related field required. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience developing lifecycle marketing, CRM, customer engagement, retention, or revenue marketing strategies within a large enterprise environment. Experience building strategic roadmaps, business cases, and cross-functional initiatives from concept through implementation. Experience developing testing strategies focused on customer engagement, personalization, retention, churn reduction, or revenue optimization. Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Technology, and Analytics organizations to deliver enterprise marketing capabilities. Experience leveraging CRM and marketing automation platforms to support personalized customer journeys. Experience within subscription-based businesses, streaming platforms, telecommunications, digital media, SaaS, or other recurring revenue business models strongly preferred. Experience presenting strategic recommendations and influencing executive stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting streaming, OTT, SVOD, telecommunications, or subscription-based businesses.
- Familiarity with technical requirement development and partnering with Engineering teams.
- Experience developing offer frameworks, customer segmentation strategies, or personalized recommendation programs.
- Understanding of customer lifecycle analytics, experimentation methodologies, and marketing performance measurement.
