About the Role
The Product Marketing Manager owns the upstream portion of the product journey to market by leading product positioning and developing the growth plan through new product development for multiple business units’ product categories. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to create effective marketing campaigns and product positioning strategies across the product life cycle, with a focus on launches.
Responsibilities
- Develop brand roadmap for multiple business units, including brand positioning, value proposition, naming strategy, sub-brand, and tier strategy.
- Manage end-to-end NPI commercialization process: scope definition, value proposition, commercial deployment, training, and funnel creation/conversion.
- Own the marketing growth plan for the business unit and product categories, incorporating insights from product management, channel marketing, and sales.
- Oversee brand trademark process with the business unit.
- Incorporate competitive positioning into product strategy, including benchmarks, fighter sheets, new product launch awareness, and market trends.
- Lead new product launch plans aligned with go-to-market strategy.
- Analyze consumer research, market trends, and business performance to optimize marketing plans and create differentiated strategies.
- Collaborate with creative, media, and channel marketing teams to develop strategy.
- Define key customer persona profiles, including messaging and KPIs, with input from channel, vertical, and digital marketing.
- Set product strategy for the Creative team and provide direction on product focus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field required; MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in product, channel, or brand marketing, ideally with a focus on product marketing and go-to-market launches.
- Experience working in a cross-functional environment with engineering, operations, marketing, and sales.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in new product launches and business initiatives.
- Strong business acumen with a strategic mindset; ability to influence cross-functionally and challenge the status quo.
- Self-reliant, results-oriented, and deadline-driven; works independently with minimal direction.
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills; effective at all organizational levels.
- Strong team player with experience in cross-functional collaboration.
- Classical marketing analytic skills: consumer/market research, volume/price/profitability trend analyses, and program-effectiveness evaluations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including recommendation briefs, marketing requests, collateral, and presentations.
- Excellent prioritization, organization, and project management skills.
- Flexibility to pivot quickly based on dynamic market changes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), Constant Contact, Canva, and Adobe.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
