About the role

Disdero, a proud BlueLinx company, is seeking a dynamic Sales Rep to join our Clackamas team. This role requires a driven, people-focused professional with a passion for growing their career in the building products industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Business Development: Proactively identify and qualify leads for commercial building projects.
  • Architectural Specification: Conduct Product Knowledge (PK) sessions and formal presentations to architects and designers to get our cladding products specified.
  • Project Management: Manage the sales cycle from lead identification through project completion, ensuring a seamless experience for the customer.
  • Technical Presentations: Deliver compelling presentations on commercial building materials, focusing on aesthetics, durability, and technical specifications.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with a recent history of successful customer satisfaction.
  • Travel: Perform regular travel to visit project sites, architectural firms, and industry events as required.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of sales or customer-facing experience, preferably in building materials or construction.
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Comfortable with basic accounting/mathematical concepts.
  • Strong data entry skills (10-key, 50+ wpm).
  • A background in building materials, construction, architectural sales, or related fields is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about commercial building materials and construction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software is a plus.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate based on the position requirements and market data. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations.
