About the role
Disdero, a proud BlueLinx company, is seeking a dynamic Sales Rep to join our Clackamas team. This role requires a driven, people-focused professional with a passion for growing their career in the building products industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Business Development: Proactively identify and qualify leads for commercial building projects.
- Architectural Specification: Conduct Product Knowledge (PK) sessions and formal presentations to architects and designers to get our cladding products specified.
- Project Management: Manage the sales cycle from lead identification through project completion, ensuring a seamless experience for the customer.
- Technical Presentations: Deliver compelling presentations on commercial building materials, focusing on aesthetics, durability, and technical specifications.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with a recent history of successful customer satisfaction.
- Travel: Perform regular travel to visit project sites, architectural firms, and industry events as required.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of sales or customer-facing experience, preferably in building materials or construction.
- A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal.
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Comfortable with basic accounting/mathematical concepts.
- Strong data entry skills (10-key, 50+ wpm).
- A background in building materials, construction, architectural sales, or related fields is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Passionate about commercial building materials and construction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software is a plus.
