About the role
This Product Manager supports Occasion Leadership to strategically drive celebrations occasion product management for all in-department and out-of-department spaces at retail. Key responsibilities include executing the strategic agenda to drive retail productivity, market basket growth, and trip conversion across all product categories. Collaboration across functions within a matrixed organization is essential to influence the delivery of support services to meet the needs of retailers and end consumers.
Responsibilities
- Shares the P&L responsibility with manager for the Everyday Business (shared responsibility across retailers)
- Drives for continuous growth in the Everyday Business
- Aids in the development of Everyday Business Strategy for assigned retailers, including marketing/promotion strategy, product mix, placement, and pricing strategy across categories
- Delivers retail productivity growth by curating assortments through optimized POGs on an ongoing basis
- Leads and guides the development of a team of professionals, instilling knowledge of business, retailer, and consumer needs
- Manages retail activity calendar and initiative planning in partnership with peer Occasion Teams, Sales, Supply Chain, and FMO
- Collaborates throughout the organization to actively pursue new solutions to drive sales, profit, and efficiencies
- Manages POG catalog/assortments across Category & designated Occasion spaces
- Aids in the development and execution plans for Everyday Business testing and research requirements
- Ensures all key schedule dates and tasks are executed on time and flawlessly
- Demonstrates leadership competencies and occasion team strategic capabilities
- Effectively communicates with internal stakeholders and presents to business leaders across the organization as well as outside the organization
- Understands POS, market/consumer trends, retailer initiatives, and competitive landscape to inform Everyday Business Strategy
Requirements
- Required Length & Type of Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in a consumer goods company with previous profit and loss responsibility
- Experience partnering with cross-functional departments in a diverse environment to achieve occasion and marketing objectives
- 5+ years prior experience managing a team
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Demonstrates the following Leadership competencies: inspirational leadership, highly collaborative, customer centric, accountability, results focused, financial acumen
- Exhibits Occasion Team Strategic Capabilities: Strategic formulation & focus, project management & organization, strong retail analytics, financial/operational savvy, communication/presentation skills
- Consumer product or AG industry-related product knowledge
- Strong PC skills to include excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
