Product Manager, Mechanical Rolls

About the role

Valmet Paper is looking for a Mechanical Product Manager responsible for applying roll services and an understanding of Valmet’s broader technology offerings to find customer solutions while working in the roll covering and maintenance technology unit. Providing the best customer solutions, developing growth targets within each area and ensuring the product presentations are tailored to the specific needs of our customers. The candidate must have a technical understanding of our mechanical offerings within the roll service group. This position is unique in the fact that it will require both significant interactions externally with customers for solution generation and significant interaction internally, defining specification and scopes.

Responsibilities

• Applying roll services and understanding Valmet’s broader technology offerings to find customer solutions while working in the roll covering and maintenance technology unit.
• Providing the best customer solutions.
• Developing growth targets within each area.
• Ensuring product presentations are tailored to specific customer needs.
• Significant interactions externally with customers for solution generation.
• Significant interaction internally, defining specification and scopes.
• Project development.
• Reviewing technical specifications and drawings.
• Providing technical support.
• Assisting sales with troubleshooting roll service items.
• Regional responsibilities in the North, but some national or international travel will be required based on training needs or personal expertise.
• Assist with pricing needed for service and modernizations.
• Generating and/or proposal drawings, graphs, simulations and/or specifications and assisting with quotes.
• Supporting Engineering and Inspectors/drafters with applying the latest Valmet technology.
