Product Manager, Mapping (Real-time Disruptions)

About the role

The Product Management Team at Waymo is responsible for bringing fully autonomous driving technology to market. This role focuses on improving the Waymo Driver's ability to navigate and respond to dynamic real-world disruptions.

Responsibilities

• Create software, processes, and metrics for the fleet to navigate and respond to dynamic real-world disruptions.
• Develop automated pipelines and operational tooling to scalably ingest and arbitrate vehicle observations and third-party data.
• Manage tradeoffs between the credibility of data provenance and the freshness of newer, less validated data.
• Partner with teams to understand the impact of map changes, ensuring reliable management of disruptions while maintaining high service quality and rider satisfaction.
• Manage a geospatial database of information that improves the Waymo Driver's understanding of the world around it.
• Work with scaled organizations to develop processes, metrics, and training necessary to execute the product vision.

Requirements

• Deep technical acumen of complex, multi-model systems.
• Track record of excellent stakeholder management.
• Infrastructure sense, even without direct experience.
• Absolutely amazing attention to detail.
• Experience with ML, particularly understanding model precision/recall gaps and processes to improve them.
• Experience with geospatial datasets and handling real-time routing optimization.
• Experience with databases that retain data provenance.

Qualifications

• Full-time position across US locations with a salary range of $204,000—$252,000 USD.
