Product Manager, Mapping (Data Quality & Tooling)

Overview

The Product Management Team at Waymo is seeking a skilled Product Manager to join our team. This role focuses on making Waymo's Autonomous Vehicle (AV) maps as useful as possible by developing the software, tools, and processes needed to rapidly map many territories.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain software, tooling, and processes for rapid mapping of multiple territories
• Develop and own mapping simulation capabilities to detect and validate map readiness before deployment
• Lead the development of the tooling roadmap, from direct map editing to scaling map readiness assessment for AVs
• Collaborate with various teams within Waymo and external organizations to define the strategic vision for the software and ensure its execution
• Develop processes, metrics, and training to support the implementation of the product vision across scaled organizations

Requirements

• Deep technical acumen of complex, multi-model systems
• Excellent stakeholder management skills to bring disparate parts of an organization together towards a common goal
• Infrastructure sense, even without direct experience in critical infrastructure
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Experience with simulation platforms, automated testing environments, or autonomous vehicle mapping architectures
• Geospatial data experience, including data coverage and quality metrics
• Experience with AVs is preferred but not required

Qualifications

• Experience with Waymo's hybrid work schedule
• Ability to report to the Group Product Manager
