About the Role
The Product Manager – Home is responsible for identifying, developing, and launching commercially successful home products from concept through production. This role combines consumer and market insights, AI-driven product ideation, commercial analysis, supplier collaboration, and hands-on product development to bring innovative, customer-focused products to market. As the business owner for assigned categories, the Product Manager balances customer needs, design, quality, manufacturability, cost, and profitability to drive category growth and innovation.
Reporting Structure
The Product Manager - Home is a member of the Product Strategy Team and reports to the Director of Product. This position partners with cross-functional stakeholders and leaders within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Identify emerging consumer trends, lifestyle shifts, and whitespace opportunities within the Home category.
- Research Amazon, retailers, social media, trade shows, customer feedback, and competitors to identify and validate commercially viable product opportunities.
- Evaluate product concepts using marketplace analytics, customer insights, competitive benchmarking, pricing, financial analysis, and B2B opportunities to build data-driven business cases.
- Develop category roadmaps aligned with long-term business objectives.
- Leverage generative AI to accelerate product discovery, trend forecasting, concept development, design exploration, packaging, merchandising, and product storytelling.
- Develop effective AI prompts and continuously evaluate emerging AI technologies to improve creativity, efficiency, and product development outcomes.
- Own products throughout the entire lifecycle, from concept through commercialization.
- Partner with overseas manufacturers to develop, refine, and commercialize innovative, high-quality products.
- Lead sample iterations and review engineering changes, materials, finishes, construction, packaging, and specifications to optimize functionality, quality, and customer experience.
- Identify value engineering opportunities that improve margins while maintaining product quality and customer value.
- Approve production-ready golden samples that meet Best Choice Products' quality, design, and commercial standards.
- Build strong partnerships with manufacturing partners to improve innovation, quality, speed, manufacturability, cost, and production readiness.
- Travel internationally to evaluate factories, participate in product development, resolve technical challenges, and approve final production samples.
- Monitor category performance and recommend new products, line extensions, product improvements, cost reductions, or end-of-life decisions.
- Analyze sales performance, customer feedback, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and inform future product strategy.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product Development, Vendor Management, Sourcing, Quality Engineering, Creative, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to ensure successful product launches and achievement of business objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Product Development, Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Development, Category Management, Merchandising, or Consumer Products.
- Demonstrated success identifying, developing, and launching commercially successful consumer products.
- Experience sourcing or developing Home products, including furniture, storage, organization, décor, kitchen, or similar consumer product categories preferred.
- Strong understanding of Amazon marketplace analytics, eCommerce merchandising, customer behavior, and competitive intelligence.
- Experience developing products with overseas manufacturers, including knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, tooling, product construction, cost structures, and design for manufacturability.
- Experience managing products through multiple development iterations, including evaluating quality, functionality, aesthetics, customer value, and final golden sample approval.
- Demonstrated experience using generative AI tools and effective prompting techniques to accelerate product discovery, concept development, design exploration, and creative problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar creative software to develop concept boards, communicate design intent, and modify product imagery.
- Strong visual design sensibility with an understanding of color, materials, finishes, proportion, and contemporary Home trends.
- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, negotiation, and project management skills.

Pay
The base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000-$115,000 USD annually. You will also be eligible to participate in BCP’s benefits and bonus programs. Individual pay is determined by job-related skills and experience.
Schedule
Full-time, exempt position. Up to 25% domestic and international travel required.
