Product Manager - Hardgoods
About the role
You have an understanding of the product line marketplace; customer needs, technical alternatives, demand drivers, industry capacity, market share, and competitor pricing. You analyze data to develop strategy for responsible categories, lead category strategy development, execution, and performance reporting, design and implement programs with OEM vendors to drive growth and build strategic relationships, participate in sourcing, design, and implementation of private label products, interface with all areas of the organization to understand needs and growth opportunities within the business, effectively communicate and network with all levels in the organization, both internally and externally, support inventory management and obsolescence, manage product definitions, product categorization, and support data management, manage store stocking program and list pricing, support field on product and supplier issues, support publications and selling tools like catalogs, flyers, and ecommerce needs.
Responsibilities
- Analyze data to develop strategy for responsible categories
- Lead category strategy development, execution, and performance reporting
- Design and implement programs with OEM vendors to drive growth and build strategic relationships
- Participate in sourcing, design, and implementation of private label products
- Interface with all areas of the organization to understand needs and growth opportunities within the business
- Effectively communicate and network with all levels in the organization, both internally and externally
- Support inventory management and obsolescence
- Manage product definitions, product categorization, and support data management
- Manage store stocking program and list pricing
- Support field on product and supplier issues
- Support publications and selling tools like catalogs, flyers, and ecommerce needs
Requirements
You have five plus years experience in metal fabrication, welding, and/or gases industry desirable, more than three (3+) year product management, sales and/or business development experience preferred, a bachelor's Degree required, a working knowledge of JDE, OBIEE, and Excel, strong analytical and Excel skills required, highly developed communication (both written & verbal), interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and customer focus skills, the ability to operate with minimal supervision in a complex environment and handle multiple tasks and follow-through, the ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Qualifications
You have a bachelor's Degree required.
