About the role
The role will focus on building products that help organizations improve data quality, ownership, accessibility, and compliance while enabling business teams to maximize the value of their data assets.
Responsibilities
- Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for data governance platforms, tooling, and data enablement capabilities, aligning priorities with business objectives and user needs.
- Partner with data leaders, engineers, architects, compliance teams, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business challenges into scalable product solutions.
- Manage the full product lifecycle, including discovery, requirements definition, prioritization, development, testing, launch, adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Lead and support Data Product Coaches responsible for enabling Business Data Product Managers through hands-on guidance, delivery support, and adoption of data product practices.
- Establish and promote data product best practices, including data contracts, consumer alignment, reusable data assets, and iterative delivery approaches.
- Collaborate with technology teams to define product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation priorities for data governance solutions.
- Drive adoption and continuous improvement of data governance capabilities by monitoring usage metrics, gathering feedback, and identifying opportunities to enhance user experience.
- Ensure products align with enterprise data governance standards, privacy requirements, security controls, and regulatory expectations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in product management, with experience supporting data platforms, enterprise software, data governance, or data management solutions.
- Strong understanding of data governance concepts, including metadata management, data catalogs, lineage, data quality, ownership models, and stewardship.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions and partnering with engineering teams in an Agile delivery environment.
- Knowledge of modern data architectures, databases, APIs, cloud platforms, and enterprise data ecosystems.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, influence stakeholders, and deliver products in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to bridge technical and business teams.
