About the Role

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is seeking a Product Manager to own the AI-powered discovery experience, ensuring customers can find the right vehicle through a sophisticated search agent. This role involves defining how the agent understands intent, reasons over inventory, and guides shoppers. You’ll also manage the quality of inventory data and collaborate with AI/ML engineering to improve the agent’s performance.

Responsibilities

  • Own the vision and implementation of the AI-powered discovery experience, including natural-language and conversational queries, inventory reasoning, and relevance ranking.
  • Partner with AI/ML engineering to evaluate and improve the search agent, focusing on prompt strategy, retrieval, and answer quality.
  • Define and ensure the quality of inventory data through ingestion, normalization, and enrichment pipelines.
  • Conduct usability tests and customer interviews to shape the product.
  • Define product strategy through PR/FAQs and PRDs, articulating customer problems, solutions, and success metrics.
  • Make prioritization decisions based on data, customer feedback, and business impact.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ship working software incrementally.
  • Instrument success metrics, build dashboards, and use data to guide future development.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product management experience on consumer-facing digital products.
  • Experience with search, relevance, filtering, or data-heavy discovery products.
  • Proven track record of defining AI-powered product experiences (e.g., conversational agents, natural-language search, LLMs).
  • Hands-on experience with large datasets, writing queries, and working with aggregations.
  • History of shipping products that customers actively use.
  • Experience working directly with engineering teams in an agile environment.
  • Strong written communication skills for creating clear product briefs.
  • Startup mindset with the ability to navigate enterprise needs.
  • Passion for modern product management practices and AI-powered tooling.

Skills

  • Comfort with ambiguity and fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to bring stakeholders along with patience and confident leadership.
  • Active exploration of AI to accelerate discovery, analysis, and delivery.

Added Bonus

  • Experience in automotive, fintech, lending, or marketplace products.
  • Experience integrating and normalizing third-party data feeds at scale.
  • Experience with regulatory or compliance considerations in product development.
  • Familiarity with writing PR/FAQ or similar “working backwards” product documents.

Benefits

  • Industry-leading benefits package.
  • Professional growth and development programs, including tuition reimbursement.
  • Team Member Vehicle Purchase Discount and Lease Vehicle Program (if applicable).
  • Comprehensive health care and wellness plans.
  • Toyota 401(k) Savings Plan with company match and annual retirement contribution.
  • Paid holidays and paid time off.
  • Referral services for prenatal care, adoption, childcare, and more.
  • Tax-advantaged accounts (HSA, FSA).
