This role can be located at one of the following STERIS locations: Mentor, OH or Vernon Hills, IL. Domestic travel is estimated at 40%, with some international travel expected.

About the Role

The primary focus for the Product Manager position is to achieve or exceed revenue and profitability objectives for the assigned product or category. The role blends downstream and upstream marketing, balancing new product development with marketing and sales strategies and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Creates global marketing strategies and tactics for the designated product line, aligning with business unit objectives to achieve revenue, margin, and market share goals.
  • Collaborates with sales and marketing leadership on action plans, new product launches, forecasting, financial planning, business case development, market potential, value proposition creation, competitive analysis, pricing, product lifecycle planning, and training.
  • Develops a detailed strategic roadmap for product and business development in alignment with the strategic plan.
  • Creates and assesses the marketing plan, evaluating the strength and sustainability of strategic choices for the product line.
  • Utilizes detailed analysis techniques to evaluate market trends, segment sizes, growth opportunities, competitive landscape, feasibility, profitability, product positioning, Voice of the Customer, and market environment.
  • Collects data and evidence to strengthen value propositions and gathers insights across markets to develop archetypes.
  • Supports cross-functional communication to gather critical information and navigate challenges, working with teams such as R&D, sales, quality, regulatory, finance, and operations.
  • Leads the creation and development of product positioning and establishes sustaining positioning for products and brands.
  • Recommends and develops tactical initiatives leveraging unique customer segments and needs to establish a competitive advantage.
  • Prioritizes new product and lifecycle enhancements to maximize portfolio value.
  • Delivers products to market through strategic marketing, communications, promotions, training, and other methods to support value proposition and brand growth.
  • Drives strong two-way relationships with sales management to align marketing and sales strategies.
  • Collaborates with marketing communications for product collateral and promotional materials.
  • Works with training specialists to develop training for sales and support staff, delivering sales training and customer presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5 years of experience in Product Management or Marketing.
  • Experience managing products from concept through lifecycle management, including product trials, launches, and commercial initiatives.
  • Experience managing broad product portfolios.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA preferred.
  • Medical device experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience in regulated industries helpful.
  • International business and marketing experience preferred.

Pay

Pay range for this opportunity is $107,550 - $120,000. This position is eligible for bonus participation. Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county or city minimums if higher than the range listed. Pay rates are based on factors including local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, and foreign language fluency.
