Product Manager

About the role
Seaman Corporation is seeking a Product Manager to manage assigned product lines and support portfolio growth through market analysis, product lifecycle management, commercialization activities, and cross-functional leadership. This role serves as the business owner for assigned products and is accountable for supporting product performance, market competitiveness, customer alignment, and operational execution. The Product Manager works within a matrix organization and collaborates closely with Sales, Marketing, Technical, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Leadership teams to execute portfolio strategies, improve profitability, support commercialization efforts, and address market opportunities. This role requires balancing strategic thinking with strong operational execution and cross-functional coordination. The Product Manager is expected to develop a deep understanding of customers, applications, competitive positioning, manufacturing processes, sourcing considerations, and business performance drivers within assigned product categories.
Responsibilities
- Serves as the day-to-day business owner for assigned product lines and portfolio segments.
- Monitors and analyzes product performance including sales, profitability, growth trends, pricing, and market position.
- Supports development and execution of product line strategies aligned with business objectives and market opportunities.
- Coordinates cross-functional activities related to product lifecycle management, commercialization, pricing, sourcing, and portfolio optimization.
- Conducts market, customer, and competitive analysis to identify opportunities, risks, and emerging trends.
- Maintains and develops competitive intelligence and product positioning knowledge for assigned markets and applications.
- Partners with Sales and Marketing teams to support product positioning, customer engagement, training, and commercial initiatives.
- Collaborates with Technical, Manufacturing, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to support product quality, sourcing, operational alignment, and issue resolution.
- Supports new product development and commercialization efforts including opportunity assessment, business case development, product launches, and lifecycle planning.
- Participates in voice-of-customer activities and develops understanding of customer needs, market drivers, and application requirements.
- Assists in development and implementation of pricing strategies and product portfolio recommendations.
- Evaluates product-related opportunities, requests, and issues using sound business judgment and cross-functional input.
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives related to portfolio complexity, operational efficiency, and customer value.
- Develops increasing technical, operational, and commercial expertise within assigned product areas.
- Leads or participates in product management projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Technical, or related field required.
- 3–7 years of experience in product management, strategic marketing, sales, operations, engineering, manufacturing, or related business functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
- Experience working within cross-functional or matrix organizations preferred.
- Manufacturing or industrial business experience preferred.
- Experience working with ERP, CRM, business intelligence, or product management systems preferred.

Schedule
Travel requirements will vary based on assigned product lines and business needs. Expected travel may include customer visits, plant visits, industry events, training activities, and commercial meetings.
