This position sits at the intersection of complex software engineering and business strategy, translating technical capability into scalable products that enable internal teams and third-party partners to build efficiently. The product manager in this position will collaborate closely with distributed engineering squads, database administrators, and technical architects to define the technical roadmap, manage critical dependencies, and prioritize features based on quantitative usage metrics and user research.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the product vision, strategy, and technical roadmap for API gateways, integration services, and developer tooling
- Translate complex business processes and system architectures into clear, actionable technical requirements and user stories for engineering squads
- Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level objectives (SLOs) to measure platform reliability and adoption success
- Partner with developer relations, product marketing, and security compliance teams to coordinate major API releases and developer portal updates
- Conduct deep competitive analysis and market research on modern developer platforms, cloud service trends, and integration technologies
- Prioritize the technical backlog using quantitative frameworks, balancing feature requests, architectural improvements, and technical debt resolution
What We Are Looking For
- 3–6 years of experience in technical product management, systems architecture, or engineering roles, specifically focusing on backend platforms or developer products
- Strong technical understanding of REST and gRPC API designs, microservices architectures, data pipelines, and cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Proven experience writing highly detailed product requirement documents (PRDs), system design documentation, and API specification docs
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate highly technical concepts to non-technical business leaders and enterprise clients
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
- Bonus: Experience with GraphQL, Kubernetes, containerized deployments, or holding an active AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner / Solutions Architect certification
