We are seeking a dynamic Product Manager to join our Marketing team at our headquarters in Rogers, MN.
Responsibilities
- Profitably grow the product portfolio by developing, implementing, and driving marketing/business strategies and annual growth plans that increase market share and size.
- Apply structured prioritization and resource-allocation principles (e.g., focusing on the highest-impact products, markets, and customers) to manage the product line lifecycle, lead business growth initiatives, and maximize portfolio profitability and performance.
- Conduct ongoing market research, competitive analysis, and voice-of-customer (VOC) data collection; translate insights into actionable product decisions: pricing, roadmap priorities, positioning, and go-to-market adjustments.
- Champion customer-driven innovation and market segmentation to identify, prioritize, and pursue new product opportunities and growth market segments/applications.
- Analyze and communicate sales trends for given product lines, creating dashboards and tracking reports.
- Build and maintain an innovation pipeline that supports NSI's business strategies.
- Lead new product development (NPD) projects using established NPD processes, defining strategic fit, competitive positioning, value proposition, business case development, and go-to-market implementation.
- Manage a portfolio of products through the development, commercialization, growth, maintenance, and obsolescence stages.
- Determine product pricing for all global regions based on market research, production/material costs, and anticipated demand; review margins and adjust pricing to maximize operating income.
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop and execute lead generation programs and campaigns for assigned products.
- Convey value propositions for assigned product lines to key market segments through industry seminars, advertising, and collateral including brochures, videos, and web content; work with content creators to produce desired materials.
- Facilitate product training for sales enablement.
- Provide input to Engineering, Service, Scanning, Training, and Sourcing/Supply Chain (including supplier evaluations, key supplier relationship management, and occasional supplier visits) on improvements to in-market products based on quality concerns, customer feedback, and market impact.
- Ensure product offerings meet applicable industry, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., NDT/CT imaging certifications, export control requirements) relevant to North Star Imaging's global markets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, or Business. MBA is a plus.
- 5-7 years of related work experience in a technical field as a product manager, including experience with voice-of-customer research and new product innovation.
- Previous experience with industrial, scientific, or instrumentation equipment is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead business growth initiatives and projects.
- Proven ability to identify and understand market segmentation, develop financial business justifications, and deliver proposals to upper management.
- Experience championing product development among a multi-functional team.
- Familiarity with lean, segmentation-based, or similar structured business frameworks is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to effectively manage priorities and time when overseeing multiple projects of varying magnitude with firm delivery dates.
- Ability to demonstrate products and train others.
- Ability to travel up to 15% (domestic and occasional international).

Pay
Compensation for this position ranges from $90,000 - $130,000 based on education and experience.
