Product Manager
About the role
Lead the growth and success of an assigned product line by developing market-driven strategies, identifying new opportunities, and advancing product innovation. Through strong collaboration and customer engagement, this role helps drive sustainable revenue growth and long-term market leadership.
Responsibilities
- Drive financial performance, develop understanding and insights into subclass profit and loss statement, ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to financial targets.
- Contribute to product line strategy; plan and execute product launches, promotional activities, and marketing campaigns to drive product awareness and sales.
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics within the territory.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new markets, partnerships, and distribution channels.
- Work with Operations team to provide accurate sales forecasts, optimize manufacturing plan, supply chain, and capacity utilization.
- Develop business cases for product line expansion, R&D projects, and capital expenditures as needed.
- Develop and implement sales tools, training, and marketing plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share within the subclass.
- Collaborate with Senior Product and Market Managers to create and implement best practices across product groups and subclasses.
- Along with Sales and Finance teams, develop annual subclass budget by account and product family.
- Support strong relationships with key customers, ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term loyalty.
- Support sales team by joining strategic sales calls for new product launches, quarterly business reviews, or other growth initiatives as needed.
- Gather and relay market feedback to product development teams to aid in product improvements and innovations.
- Monitor and analyze competitor activities and strategies to identify opportunities and threats in the market.
- Develop and maintain competitive pricing strategies and negotiate contracts with customers to maximize profitability.
- Facilitate new item set-up, pricing approvals, quoting, and other sales support as needed.
- Travel up to 25-40% for customer visits, trade shows, industry conferences, manufacturing plant support, etc.
Requirements
- University Degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years in product management, marketing, sales, or industry related experience.
- Technical knowledge of textile industry and polymer science is preferred.
- Proven ability to interact with Sr. Executives.
- Good intuition/customer insight skills with confidence to act.
- Highly organized and has very effective time management skills.
- Effective negotiation skills.
- Data driven decision making with ability to translate analysis into business insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
