ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and growing strong supplier relationships.
  • Carrying out complementary product related activities to grow sales, gross profits and hit sales goals for each product line.
  • Staying up to date on assigned suppliers and product lines regarding policy, procedures, contacts, and products.
  • Supporting sales as a product expert and be able to provide alternate solutions with other suppliers.
  • Soliciting referrals & leads from suppliers for sales follow up.
  • Providing timely price and delivery information for sales.
  • Negotiating special pricing on daily transactions or "package" requirements.
  • Communicating: significant new product line opportunities to your supplier reps, significant new wins in your product lines to the Region, important supplier updates to divisions in weekly branch meetings, new product, or market data to Product Marketing Manager.
  • Reviewing and helping to resolve branch inventory issues and branch receiving problems or discrepancies.
  • Leading product training sessions, promoting lines with Sales and Management, and monitoring and driving branch sales promotions.

    About the role

    The position involves playing an important role in driving the Heilind sales process. You will learn all the key details about bringing the Heilind sales process to a successful conclusion and become a highly valued partner to suppliers and salespeople.

    Responsibilities

    You will become an expert on your suppliers and their product lines, forming close working relationships with supplier counterparts. At various times, you will be a promoter and negotiator, and always a communicator and facilitator, because you will be in the midst of the business, impacting sales, marketing, cost quoting, pricing strategies, and inventory decisions.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four plus years related sales/marketing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience in electronic component distribution sales or closely related field preferred.
    • To perform the position, you must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR.
    • Must be able to report to assigned office location during scheduled in-office workdays.
    • Proficiency in the following applications: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations.
    • Customer service skills - Ability to nurture and grow key supplier relationships with, among other activities, timely responses to requests for service and assistance; ability to manage difficult situations to positive resolutions.
    • Business acumen - Understands business implications of decisions; maintains appropriate focus on profitability; keeps abreast of the market and the competition.
    • Communications skills - Comfortable speaking in front of groups and capable of persuasively doing so in both positive and negative situations; a good listener with ability to keep emotions under control; writes clearly and correctly with an ability to vary writing style depending on audience and objectives.
    • Planning & Organization - Ability to establish a clear plan of action and direct and manage execution of the plan to achieve intended results.
    • Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (paperwork, typing, using mouse/keyboard). The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Working Conditions Position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work.)

      Qualifications
