Product Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a leader to drive customer interactions with our instrument products and solutions, ensuring they best meet market needs. This global role involves collaborating with customers, sales teams, world area marketing, and engineering to provide solutions using current products, support new product development, and manage sales activities. Based in Marshalltown, Iowa, you will act as the global product expert, championing opportunities across the business and working closely with product managers to define and launch new products and strategies.

Responsibilities

• Understand portfolio uses in the market and maintain knowledge of competitive products.
• Analyze customer use cases to identify opportunities for product expansions and new market applications.
• Travel to customer sites for face-to-face interactions.
• Improve financial performance through profitability initiatives, supply chain resiliency, and global reach.
• Lead time reduction initiatives and product enhancements to extend the product lifecycle.
• Analyze business trends (e.g., bookings, market participation, quote conversion rates) and propose corrective strategies.
• Work with country sales organizations to develop and implement product tiering strategies for improved wins in volume and profit.
• Act as a product spokesperson by creating technical papers, speaking at trade shows, and sharing success stories.
• Collaborate with marketing communications to develop sales collateral and extend product awareness.
• Develop user documentation and marketing materials.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to resolve technical issues.
• Train sales, service, and education services personnel on products and market segments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Marketing with 3+ years of industry experience OR 6+ years of relevant industry experience (in lieu of degree).
• Solid understanding of commercial and technical applications of control valve instruments or similar products.
• Engineering background or related experience to investigate customer needs, conduct competitive analysis, and develop product specifications.
• Experience in process engineering, sales, or marketing.
• Knowledge of process control or similar business, including marketplace dynamics, competitive products, and customer applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical experts and non-technical sales teams.
• Capability to develop strong global relationships.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship will not be provided).

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA.
• 6+ years of industry experience.
