PRODUCT MANAGER
Duties/Responsibilities
- Design systems to safely, efficiently, and effectively treat wastewater, remove harmful substances, and return water to the ecosystem; creates municipal and industrial treatment plants for water and wastewater.
- Takes inputs from multiple disciplines and evaluates and implements design parameters for the systems.
- Selects equipment to meet design parameters.
- Evaluates existing equipment and emerging technologies to keep system design at the forefront of the industry.
- Collaborates with mechanical design team to design the system and generate standard drawings.
- Standardizes design and generates template documentation to support products.
- Supports a multidisciplinary team on technical questions related to the product.
- Conducts market analysis to determine worthwhile products to develop.
- Experience with PLM (product lifecycle management) and version control.
- Experience with operational logic control (control narratives) is a plus.
- Knowledge of statistical methods and reliability engineering is a plus.
- Maintains knowledge and subject matter expertise.
- Detail-oriented person who is able to work independently.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, other engineering disciplines are acceptable with relevant experience.
- Previous experience in the wastewater/water treatment industry is preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience in designing mechanical systems (pumps, piping systems, aeration systems) is preferred, but not required.
Qualifications
- Passionate about the environment and improving community water resources.
- Background or interest in wastewater treatment, mechanical design, fabrication and welding.
- Curious and solution-oriented.
- Dependable and self-motivated.
Skills
- Experience with PLM (product lifecycle management) and version control.
- Experience with operational logic control (control narratives) is a plus.
- Knowledge of statistical methods and reliability engineering is a plus.
Benefits
This is a full-time position with benefits. Pay is determined by experience. Applicant must have a clean DMV record. There may be occasional traveling involved with this position.

Hybrid employee with flexible scheduling considered. Minimum 40% in-office availability. Fully remote is not an option for this role at this time.

The wastewater industry can be hazardous due to exposure to biological and chemical hazards, as well as physical dangers, including but not limited to, confined spaces, slips, falls, wet and/or humid conditions, high and/or low altitude, moving mechanical parts, high and/or precarious places, fumes and/or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, vibration, sewage, epoxy coatings, solvents, and excessive noise levels. Employees may come in contact with wastewater which contains human waste. Wastewater contains various bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can cause diseases in humans and animals. Workers can be exposed through contact with wastewater, aerosols containing pathogens, or contaminated equipment. Wastewater treatment processes also involve the use of various chemicals, some of which can be toxic or corrosive. It is imperative that employees wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols. While not mandatory, it is also highly recommended that employees stay current with vaccinations, including Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, and Diphtheria.
