About the role
We are looking for a technically grounded, market-driven Product Manager to own the full product lifecycle for our Phased Array (PAUT) and Conventional Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Probes & Wedges lines. These are foundational product families in our NDT portfolio: commercially significant, technically demanding, and directly tied to customer inspection outcomes across Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Power Generation, Defense, Manufacturing, and Infrastructure markets.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic product lines at the core of our NDT portfolio, from roadmap definition through lifecycle management.
- Translate inspection challenges into technically robust, manufacturable, and competitive solutions by working at the intersection of market needs, customer requirements, and internal capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, application engineering, operations, quality, and sales to ensure product performance and market relevance.
- Define and drive the product roadmap for PAUT and conventional UT probe and wedge families, aligned with business priorities, inspection applications, and market opportunities.
- Translate customer needs and field requirements into clear product specifications for R&D, engineering, and applications teams.
- Identify opportunities to convert custom-developed solutions into standard product offerings, and build the supporting business cases around revenue, margin, and investment targets.
- Manage the full product lifecycle, including launch, product evolution, portfolio rationalization, and end-of-life (EOL) decisions.
- Validate the technical and application fit of probes and wedges with application engineering teams, based on real inspection scenarios, customer acceptance criteria, and inspection constraints.
- Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, and suppliers on cost, yield, availability, market lead times, and qualification of critical components.
- Maintain active market intelligence on NDT trends, applicable standards (ASME, EN, ISO), emerging technologies (TFM/FMC, broadband probes), and competitive offerings.
- Define product positioning, target segments, technical differentiators, and launch support tools in close collaboration with sales teams and distributors.
- Support strategic opportunities by partnering with sales on RFQs, technical value messaging, and customer objection handling.
- Track portfolio performance through key indicators (revenue, margin, attach rate, SKU performance) and recommend optimization actions accordingly.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in product management, technical sales, or application engineering within product development environments.
- A solid understanding of the conventional UT and PAUT ecosystem, including probe and wedge design principles as well as their main inspection applications.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and technical teams, translating market needs into clear and structured product specifications.
- Comfort managing a multi-SKU portfolio with an organized, analytical, and market-driven approach.
- Demonstrated autonomy, professionalism, strong execution discipline, and excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
