About the Role
CABVI is seeking a Product Manager to develop, plan, and organize a product line from concept through the product cycle. This includes product specifications, pricing, labor, marketing, sales, deletion, and addition to maximize job creation and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Determine customer needs and desired products/product specifications to obtain product line growth and market share.
- Bring new products to market by analyzing value-added labor opportunities, product material costs, anticipated customer sales channels and volumes, and competitive pricing.
- Work with the Product Development Manager to submit applicable documents for product addition, price changes, and product changes for Preferred Source and AbilityOne set-aside programs.
- Closely interact with various departments to quickly resolve product issues.
- Act as an internal product expert to address any technical product support needed.
- Conduct internal product implementation meetings and product training.
- Develop product marketing strategies and sales efforts, including making sales calls to current and potential customers.
- Provide short-term and long-term product line development plans to senior management.
- Conduct annual product evaluations and provide recommendations to increase employment opportunities, profitability, and reduce risk.
- Work with the quality department to establish product specifications, tolerances, and quality inspection processes.
- Analyze inventory turnover, market trends, and customer demand to ensure product availability.
- Responsible for product line raw and finished material requisition planning and execution using MRP tools.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Manager and Quality Control on supply source identification and evaluation.
- Develop strategies for negotiating product costs, delivery terms, and quality resolution.
- Update product records in ticketing systems, shared folders, and reports.
- Initiate purchase order cancellations, product returns, and credits.
- Determine initial product pricing through market research and cost analysis.
- Ensure all products fulfill ISO standards and policies.
Qualifications
- Associate degree and at least two years of related experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Computer competency with knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and excellent mathematical skills.
- Understanding of state and federal laws and regulations, including JWOD and state use programs.
- Strong communication skills, including presenting information and writing effective objectives, proposals, and reports.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit for periods at a computer terminal.
- Occasionally required to reach, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
- Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Frequently required to speak and hear.
Work Environment
In-house position with occasional travel. Moderate noise level.
Pay
$22/hr
