About the role
An excellent career opportunity is available for a Software Product Manager local to the Aires Pittsburgh, PA (Robinson Township) office. This role involves crafting the next generation of digital mobility management tools. The Product Manager will work side-by-side with R&D, UX, Design, QA, Documentation, Support, Training, Solution Architecture, and Sales to build software products that solve user pain points and align with business goals. This position reports to the Director of Product Management and Design at Aires.
This position is not eligible for current or future visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work legally in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Apply understanding of business drivers and engage stakeholders for input and feedback to develop new Aires IT software solutions or enhance existing ones.
- Serve as the customer proxy by understanding key business objectives and product strategy.
- Collaborate with business and technical subject matter experts to understand needs, obtain necessary sign-offs and approvals, and create high-level product specification documents (Business Requirement Documents, Product Requirements Documents).
- Communicate business needs and technical solutions clearly and unambiguously to stakeholders and teams.
- Work with teams throughout all phases of the product lifecycle to ensure deliverables meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Manage the schedule, risks, issues, decisions, and dependencies related to deliverables.
- Act as a voice of the customer and subject matter expert for the Agile Scrum Teams.
- Utilize agile tools and resources to manage, track, and report work progress.
- Create Epics, Features, and User Stories with clear and unambiguous Acceptance Criteria, ensuring they communicate customer/stakeholder needs to development teams; clarify and refine requirements as necessary.
- Work with stakeholders and agile teams to define, refine, and prioritize the product backlog.
- Assess business value and prioritize all stories in the product/iteration backlog to focus on those with maximum value aligned with product strategy.
- Verify and accept (or reject) the work delivered by the agile teams; support Acceptance Criteria Driven Development.
- Participate in and prepare for SAFe Agile ceremonies such as Iteration Planning, Refinement, Program Increment Planning, Iteration/System Demos, Retrospectives, and Inspect and Adapt sessions.
- Collaborate with the User Experience and Design team to ensure software solutions offer an intuitive, user-friendly, and efficient experience for targeted user personas.
- Understand and support inter-team dependencies, escalate issues when necessary, and resolve them.
- Collaborate with teams to set and communicate release schedules, dates, and scope.
- Ensure IT products are delivered successfully and continue to work as expected in production.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or technology disciplines.
- Two (2) or more years of experience working as a product owner or product manager in an agile software development product team, preferably using the SAFe agile framework.
- Knowledge of SaaS software, including Web and Mobile interfaces, with a solid understanding of related software development lifecycle tools and processes.
- Excellent communication skills—written and verbal—and the ability to modulate communication appropriately for a broad range of audiences (senior leadership to development teams).
- Confirmed analytical skills with experience turning data into meaningful insights.
- Experience with requirements gathering and documentation.
- Understanding of Product Management practices and philosophy.
- Expertise in Product Management tools like JIRA, Confluence, Monday, Aha!, etc.
- Proficiency in using MS Office products and the ability to learn and grasp complex proprietary software solutions.
- Customer-centric approach combined with curiosity for technology, data-enabled decision-making, and fulfillment platform strategy.
- Proven experience building trust and collaborating with cross-functional partners to achieve common objectives.
- Proven track record of working autonomously while taking ownership of actions and results.
