About the role

The Product Line Specialist at Twist Bioscience will support the company's Synthetic Biology production schedule for generating and characterizing antibodies. This position requires a strong background in laboratory operations, biophysical characterization, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day lab operations and troubleshooting for commonly used equipment and protocols.
  • Coordinate production planning and observe shipment planning.
  • Design and perform biophysical characterization experiments, collect data, and analyze results.
  • Troubleshoot production incidents and triage JIRA tickets.
  • Identify and implement continuous process improvements.
  • Create training processes and maintain training records.
  • Provide excellent customer service and product support to the field sales team.
  • Work collaboratively with diverse teams under aggressive timelines.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 2+ years of lab experience, preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with proteins, particularly antibodies.
  • Experience with biophysical assays such as aSEC, DLS, DSF, HIC, nonspecific/polyspecificity binding, SPR/BLI for binding kinetic measurements, protein titer measurements, ac-sins, ELISA.
  • Proven experience using laboratory liquid handling automation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and organizational skills.
  • Sharp data interpretation capability.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable working in a LEAN manufacturing/controlled laboratory environment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time while performing duties.
  • Ability to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular work hours and shifts as needed.
