Product Lead, Explore
About the role
The Product Lead will own the Explore product, end-to-end, covering transfer pathways, rules management, articulation, prospective student profiles, and admissions workflows. The roadmap is wide open, with no inherited backlog to manage.
Responsibilities
- Define the Explore product from the ground up, based on problem discovery and partner insights.
- Drive partner-driven discovery sessions, learning how transfer processes work at different institutions and translating that into actionable product decisions.
- Work closely with engineering teams in the US and Pakistan to shape the product’s architecture, address trade-offs, and sequence features.
- Identify common threads in transfer rules and requirements across institutions to design scalable solutions that work across multiple schools.
- Hold both the immediate build and the long-term platform vision in mind, ensuring every decision shapes what's possible later.
Requirements
- 6+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record of growing in scope and responsibility.
- Experience in defining a product problem from nothing and building conviction around a solution.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to make directional calls with incomplete information.
- Strong partner instincts, with a knack for asking insightful questions and translating those insights into product decisions.
- Technical depth, though not necessarily needing to write code, with comfort in architecture discussions and understanding how decisions today constrain or enable what's possible tomorrow.
- An ownership mindset, taking full responsibility for the Explore product's success.
- Clear, engaging communication skills, with the ability to make complex ideas feel structured and difficult trade-offs seem obvious.
Qualifications
- Proven success in true 0→1 product experiences.
- Comfort in ambiguous situations, knowing how to structure discovery and make directional calls even without a clear spec.
- Strong partner instincts, with a natural ability to lead customer conversations and turn insights into product decisions.
- Technical acumen, with the ability to discuss architecture and understand the long-term implications of current decisions.
- An ownership mindset, ready to take on the challenges of an early-stage product.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
