Product Handler

About the role

$27.47/hour. 12-hour rotating shifts. Swing shift follows a 2-2-3 rotation: work 2 days, off 2, work 3, off 2, work 2, off 3, then repeat. Shift sequence alternates between day and night each cycle, yielding roughly every-other-weekend duty and one long weekend per month (Friday 6:00 a.m. to Tuesday 6:00 a.m.). The plant operates 24/7/365; holiday work is required unless approved time off is on record.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety rules and standard safety practices
• Load pebble lime into railcars and customer trucks
• Communicate and cooperate effectively with truck drivers
• Detect and respond to safety hazards and equipment malfunctions per established standards
• Lift, carry, push, or move a minimum of 50 lbs
• Perform housekeeping, greasing, minor maintenance, and other manual labor tasks as needed
• Assist maintenance personnel as required
• Work in varied environments including weather extremes and exposure to fine lime/limestone dust (PPE provided)
• Be cross-trained in other job functions
• Access and work in all plant areas, including heights up to 125 ft above ground level
• Engage in frequent walking, ladder and stair climbing

Qualifications

• Over 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Current driver’s license is a strong asset
• Physically fit and able to work rotating shifts
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and excellent communication skills
• Ability to think quickly, troubleshoot, and problem-solve
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability
• Adaptable to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances and direction
• Good math skills including the four basic arithmetic functions and common units of measurement
• Computer skills sufficient to work with JDE, Labware, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access; ability to learn and understand PLCs
• Ability to read and write English to interpret manuals, regulations, reports and complete paperwork
