Product Engineer - Mandarin

Key Responsibilities

• Build and ship product features end-to-end using Next.js and Python.
• Debug and fix production issues quickly with strong judgment on user impact.
• Partner closely with Product to turn ideas into shipped experiences and influence UX decisions.
• Utilize AI aggressively for development, debugging, and prototyping (90%+ AI-assisted coding).
• Optimize full-stack performance, speed, and usability.

Required Experience

• Seniority: 2 - 8 years of experience in product-focused full-stack engineering.
• Track record of shipping features end-to-end that reached real users.
• Employment history at a VC-backed startup OR a big tech company (Founding engineer or top 10 early employee at YC/a16z-backed startups preferred).
• Experience in Consumer product or mobile-first products.

Technical Skills (Hard Skills)

• Core Stack: Strong proficiency with Next.js and Python.
• AI Tools: Extensive use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) with 90%+ of code generated via AI.

Soft Skills & Other Requirements

• Product Mindset: Proactive approach; focuses on "why" features are built, UX, and not just specs.
• Language: Native or native-level Mandarin proficiency.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Work Arrangement: Must be able to work remotely in Pacific Standard Time with a Sunday evening standup.
