About the role

The Product Engineer, Electronics role at 3M offers an opportunity to join a collaborative team responsible for the manufacture, commercialization, and management of electronic Hearing Protection and Communication products. This position is ideal for transitioning from other industries to a 3M career.

Responsibilities

  • Support the manufacture and quality of the existing product portfolio
  • Manage projects to qualify alternate electronic components
  • Support the commercialization of new electronics/hardgoods designs
  • Help translate customer requirements and business goals into tangible product designs and system requirements
  • Serve as key team member
  • Plan and manage work to meet project plans, timelines, and deliverables
  • Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Experience in product development and design of electronics-based products
  • Experience successfully translating customer requirements into design criteria and system specifications
  • Experience with wireless technologies and related device interactions, microprocessors, hardware design, firmware, sensors, electro-mechanical systems, design for electronics manufacturing
  • Experience with electro-acoustic design and validation
  • Experience fabricating prototypes to assess manufacturability
  • Broad awareness of global technology landscape
  • Understanding of fabrication methods and manufacturing techniques
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Experience with test systems
  • Experience with low-power system design for battery-operated devices
  • Experience designing and integrating accessories for two-way radio communication systems

Benefits

  • Relocation Assistance: Maybe authorized
  • Pay Range: $98,964 - $120,957, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible
