Responsibilities
- Provide solutions to various technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
- Give advice, analyze information, and provide technical guidance within a specific function for others within the organization, including Marketing, Applications, Manufacturing, and Purchasing
- Maintain and minor additions to existing products
- Support product/development testing and design activities in support of engineering objectives
- Aid in designing components and test fixtures as required in testing and qualification of new concepts or supplier components
- Aid in using manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping to improve productivity
- Aid in various Cost Improvement Goals, proposing new ideas and initiating cost reduction and product improvement efforts to increase the overall value of products
- Take on project management responsibilities and work on business process improvement projects
- Stay current on product and component technology improvements and industry trends to effectively perform the functions of the position
- Investigate engineering/manufacturing issues related to the assembly of the product and take corrective action to prevent recurrence of problems
- Develop tools to measure, monitor, and improve product bill of material accuracy and product throughput in the plant
- Maintain agency and regulatory approval status (UL, CRN, ASME, KHK, CE, etc.)
- Maintain product documentation to assure engineering documentation, drafting documentation, and product are consistent
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of engineering, preferably in the HVAC industry
- Basic skills with CAD applications
