Duties And Responsibilities

  • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
  • Produces engineering documents, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams and schematics).
  • Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis.
  • Provides completion of technical tasks.
  • Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
  • Helps scope equipment for use and complete qualifications.
  • Works with team to on general lab functions; including calibration, implementation of safety procedures, and routine equipment maintenance.
  • Notifies manager or team lead upon recognition of factors that may affect project.
  • Helps develop prototype processes and test set-ups.
  • Executes designed test protocols and conducts testing.
  • Effectively documents and communicates test results.
  • Handles test samples and chemicals used for conditioning and testing.

Requirements

  • Minimum education requirement is high school diploma, experience in a lab environment (corporate or school) or technician experience in a regulated environment for a minimum of 4-6 years, experience following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team.
  • Preferred requirement: Bachelor of Science in a technical area and at least 1-2 year of experience in a laboratory/R&D setting following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team.
  • Preferred Qualifications And Experience:
    • Ability to understand and perform designed test procedures.
    • The ability to work effectively in a cross functional group and communicate effectively with the lab team and extended team members.
    • Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
    • Proficiency in personal computers.
    • Ability to train lower-level technicians.
