Product Development Technician/Mechanical Engineering Tech - 7:00AM-3:30PM

About the role

We are seeking a Product Development Technician/Mechanical Engineering Tech for our Brea, CA facility. This is a 12‑month contract W2 position (requires US citizenship, GC holder, GC EAD, OPT, EAD, or CPT) with a Medical Devices Company client, within the Engineering job category. Interviews will be conducted in‑person. The role involves contributing to the completion of routine technical tasks and developing solutions to routine technical problems of specified scope, with primary contacts to immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the unit.

Responsibilities

• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
• Produces engineering document, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams and schematics)
• Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis
• Provides completion of technical tasks.
• Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
• Helps scope equipment for use and complete qualifications
• Works with team on general lab functions; including calibration, implementation of safety procedures, and routine equipment maintenance
• Notifies manager or team lead upon recognition of factors that may affect project
• Helps develop prototype processes and test set-ups
• Executes designed test protocol and conducts testing
• Effectively documents and communicates test results
• Handles test samples and chemicals used for conditioning and testing

Requirements

• Minimum education requirement is high school diploma.
• Experience in a lab environment (corporate or school) or technician experience in a regulated environment for a minimum of 4‑6 years.
