Product Design Manager- Core Card Experiences
About the role
We’re seeking a Product Design Lead to play a pivotal role on the Core Card Experiences team, shaping the tools millions of cardholders rely on to manage and grow their accounts. As a Manager-level IC, you will own design strategy and delivery for multiple complex projects, coach junior designers, influence product roadmaps, and invest in design team culture and processes. Responsibilities
- Combine craft expertise and leadership skills with an understanding of customers and the business to co-create innovative solutions to complex problems and influence product strategy.
- Demonstrate a high degree of skill in product design, leveraging interaction, visual, and service design; inform the use of appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems; create artifacts such as journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes.
- Lead design projects, direct and delegate work for junior team members, and build strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders while mentoring and maturing the overall product design practice.
- Navigate the needs of partners and stakeholders, leveraging critical-thinking skills that factor in data, research insights, scalability, and tech constraints to ensure customer-centered and inclusive design solutions.
- Apply insights on customers, competitors, and market trends to business challenges, shaping a shared point of view for your team, partners, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of tech, data capabilities, and emerging technologies to inform work and help cross-functional teams navigate technical limitations.
- Foster collaboration across lines of business and the organization, incorporating cross-functional perspectives to bridge gaps in information and drive product strategy.
- Present work across levels and job functions using a human-centered approach that integrates design frameworks, data, and research insights to articulate a compelling point of view influencing strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in a Product Design role
- At least 5 years of experience in design and prototyping tools such as Figma
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 6 years of experience in a Product Design role
- At least 6 years of experience in design and prototyping tools such as Figma
- Experience working with and contributing to an established design system
- Experience collaborating with product, tech, and business partners
- Experience leading design projects or teams
- Experience working in heavily regulated, data-heavy problem spaces
Pay
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on the agreed-upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
- McLean, VA: $164,800 - $188,100 for Manager, Design
- New York, NY: $179,700 - $205,100 for Manager, Design
- Richmond, VA: $149,800 - $171,000 for Manager, Design
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
