Product Design Manager

Responsibilities
- Combine your craft expertise and leadership skills with an understanding of our customers and the business to co-create innovative solutions to complex problems and influence product strategy.
- Demonstrate a high degree of skill in product design, leveraging a variety of skills across interaction, visual and service design; in collaboration with cross-functional partners, map out complex front and back stage interactions across channels, platforms, and users, informing the use of appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks and design systems and creates artifacts that may include journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs and prototypes.
- Effectively navigate the needs of partners and stakeholders, leveraging critical-thinking skills that factor in data, research insights, scalability and tech constraints, while ensuring the team conducts discovery on critical customer and associate needs to deliver inclusive, internal, and customer-centered solutions.
- Apply relevant insights on customers, competitors and broader market trends to business challenges that shape a shared point of view for your team, partners and stakeholders.
- Use this knowledge to inform your work and help your cross-functional team move faster and navigate technical limitations in service of the impactful solutions.
- Explore and integrate emerging AI tools and technologies throughout the end-to-end design process to enhance creativity, streamline workflows, and drive innovation.
- Understand and leverage tech, data capabilities and emerging technologies to inform your work and help your cross-functional team move faster and navigate technical limitations in service of the impactful solutions.
- Leverage a rich network of partnerships across lines of business and the organization to foster collaboration and share solutions, incorporating cross-functional perspectives to bridge gaps in information and drive product strategy.
- Present work across levels and job functions using a human-centered approach that integrates design frameworks, data and research insights to articulate a compelling point of view that influences strategic decision-making and direction at senior levels.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in a Product Design role.
- At least 5 years of experience in design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
- Preferred: At least 6 years of experience in a Product Design role.
- Preferred: At least 6 years of experience in design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
- Experience working with and contributing to an established design system.
- Experience collaborating with product, tech and business partners.
- Experience leading design projects or teams.
- Experience working in heavily regulated, data heavy problem spaces.
- Experience designing agentic workflows for autonomous tasks and human-in-the-loop interactions.
- Experience piloting services and operationalizing them into resilient service experiences.

Pay
Salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
- Mclean, VA: $164,800 - $188,100 for Manager, Design
- New York, NY: $179,700 - $205,100 for Manager, Design
- San Francisco, CA: $179,700 - $205,100 for Manager, Design
