Product Design Engineer
About the role
Meta's Hardware engineers are at the forefront of innovation, driving the design and development of hardware systems that power the future of human connection. Across Infrastructure, Reality Labs, Robotics, and Research, our teams tackle complex challenges in consumer electronics, data centers, advanced robotics, opto-mechanical systems, and more. We bring together cross-disciplinary minds to invent, prototype, and deliver products and platforms that connect billions of people worldwide.
Responsibilities
Own the mechanical architecture for key research initiatives and/or entire products or product families.
Lead the design of critical components and full systems, solving technical problems that few others in the organization can, and ensuring robust end-to-end product development and integration.
Proactively identify and solve critical, long-term, and often ambiguous problems that impact strategic objectives.
Influence key leaders and functional strategy, and participate in the development of the organization's technical roadmap.
Act as a recognized and thought leader, sought out for advice across multiple teams.
Create and leverage formal networks with key internal and external contacts.
Recruit, onboard, and serve as a mentor to other engineers, elevating the entire team.
Drive investments in engineering craft, advocate for higher product quality and efficiency, and establish new best practices to resolve business-critical challenges.
Bring clarity to undefined problems and develop novel approaches for issues with unclear or variable factors.
Exercise judgment to drive comprehensive solutions that align with broader organizational goals and future implications.
