GENERAL PURPOSE
The primary responsibility is to assist in converting functional requirements of Herman Miller product into a technical design concept and structure using rules within an object-oriented configuration system.
Essential Functions
- Apply configuration standards that result in accurate, timely and easily understood models.
- Aid in technical design required to convert the engineering and manufacturing requirements for product configuration into rules within an object-oriented configuration system.
- Construct and maintain models using rules in an object-oriented configuration system.
- Cookordination activities with related product database functions.
- Supports the New Product Commercialization process, through various departments and product development to implement rule changes on new and existing products.
- Given the responsibility to manage medium scale modeling projects.
- Work with marketing, engineering and manufacturing to structure configuration models of Herman Miller product offering and related information.
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested.
Qualifications

- Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in related technical field (computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- Must have minimum of 5 years as an associate configuration modeler or equivalent experience.
- Skills And Abilities: Experience with rules with and object-oriented configuration systems. Clear understanding of engineering data and documentation requirements in a engineering and manufacturing environment. Knowledge of blueprints, item masters, bill of materials, routings and marketing databases. Understanding of Engineering Change Management systems and manufacturing systems. Well-developed conceptual, analytical and communication skills. Must be a resourceful problem solver.

Compensation
- The compensation range for this role is $70,400.00 - $88,000.00.
- Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors.
