About the role

The Product and Material Manager oversees end-to-end developments related to their assigned categories for global Skechers Apparel product. This includes leading style development discussions with cross-functional partners and ensuring timely execution through effective communication with vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Manage factory development timelines in partnership with manager and Asia Development Teams; proactively callout challenges.
  • Ensure proper data entry into Flex PLM and Material Chart.
  • Review all material developments for accurate FDS and Flex PLM upload.
  • Review all trim developments for accurate TDS and Flex PLM upload.
  • Create and maintain material palette in Flex PLM.
  • Create and maintain seasonal binders with approvals for: Trim, Fabric, AOP, and lab dips.
  • Lead guiding the sample team in proper filing of seasonal trims, fabrics, and bulk.
  • Constant communication with external and internal cross-functional teams involved in the product creation.
  • Work closely with the designers to develop each category from initial concept through to finished product.
  • Review BOM at each key development sample request stage to ensure all items have codes, are accurately linked, and align with primary vendor.
  • Review color BOM prior to SMS request and production to ensure all colorways are called out accurately per FDS & TDS.
  • Implement development critical path with manufacturers, ensuring prototypes deadlines are adhered to.
  • Build strong factory partnership relationships, understand strengths and opportunities by vendor.
  • Responsible for timely execution of calendar deliverables to meet Sampling, SMS, and Production timing requirements.
  • Review weekly WOOS from Vendors.
  • Participate and lead information sharing in all CFT meetings.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of Apparel Development lifecycle, end-to-end.
  • Strong ability to identify potential future risk and proactively problem solve.
  • Able to multi-task under tight deadlines and a self-starter.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and excellent follow through.
  • Computer proficiency; Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), PLM (Product Life Management) system.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $100,000-$115,000/yr USD.
