About the role
Spectrum News NECN is seeking a Producer who can work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship. This role involves leading local news coverage and collaborating with colleagues to inform and inspire the community.
Responsibilities
- Drive local news coverage and determine the most important stories
- Determine what to air and when, transforming pitches into engaging newscasts
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure stories resonate with the audience
- Utilize innovative journalistic approaches and comprehensive research
Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years in television news
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of social media platforms and basic editing skills (Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro)
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, go-getter personality
- Travel Ability: Open to travel for field duties
- Working Conditions: Climate-controlled environment, occasional field work, semi-noisy newsroom setting
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software, and basic non-linear editing systems
- May be required to lift up to five pounds
- Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes
Benefits
Spectrum News NECN offers a comprehensive pay and benefits package, including a competitive salary range of $55,000.00 to $87,800.00, based on qualifications and experience. Additional forms of incentive-based compensation may be available.
Pay
The base pay for this position generally is between $55,000.00 and $87,800.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
