About the role
Spectrum News NECN is seeking a Producer who can creatively tell local and national news stories. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of television news experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. Key responsibilities include leading news coverage, collaborating with colleagues, and developing engaging newscasts.
Responsibilities
- Drive local news coverage and determine the most important stories
- Determine what to air and when
- Transform pitches into compelling stories that inspire and delight viewers
- Collaborate with colleagues to decide what goes on air
- Create newscasts that attract and hold audiences' attention
Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years in television news
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of social media platforms and basic editing skills (Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro)
- Skills: Go-getter personality, excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Travel Ability: Open to travel for field duties
- Working Conditions: Climate-controlled environment, occasional field work, semi-noisy newsroom setting
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software, and basic non-linear editing systems
- May be required to lift up to five pounds
- Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes

Pay and Schedule
The base pay for this position generally is between $55,000.00 and $87,800.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
