About the Role

As a SiriusXM Podcast Producer, you will lead ongoing production across one or more shows in our curiosity and inspiration slate. These shows come from the long tradition of podcasts that center around compelling conversations, strong storytelling, culture, lifestyle, entertainment, and education. In this role, you will model best production practices and help develop and implement strategies to drive the growth, quality, and success of this slate and the organization's podcasting efforts overall.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day production execution across one or more shows under the direction of an Executive Producer, modeling strong production practices and contributing to production improvements.
  • Content development and acquisition: Contribute to the development and acquisition of podcast content in partnership with the Executive Producer. Identify potential podcast concepts and collaborate with content creators, hosts, and the wider production team to ensure high-quality, engaging, and diverse podcast offerings.

Provide structural, technical, and audio expertise to improve shows; manage the creative process to anticipate problems; support hosts and the production team; deliver projects on budget; and ensure timely release and distribution of episodes across platforms.
  • Talent management: Support podcast hosts and guest talent by identifying and pitching talent, providing guidance, and fostering positive, collaborative working relationships.
  • Monetization and revenue generation: Support and coordinate established monetization plans, including communicating with Ad Ops and Revenue Partnerships teams to approve and deliver excellent ad reads, and exploring sponsorships and branded content opportunities.
  • Audience growth and engagement: Collaborate in developing and implementing tactics to grow and engage the podcast audience, working with marketing to promote podcasts through social media, email, collaborations, and other channels.
  • Analytics and performance measurement: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as downloads, listens, engagement, and audience demographics to evaluate performance, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Industry partnerships and collaborations: Maintain awareness of the podcast landscape and identify opportunities for cross-promotion, talent exchanges, and collaborations to enhance SiriusXM’s podcasting reach and influence.
  • Podcast network development: Work with your Executive Producer on incoming pitches, development, and launches of new shows, helping identify podcasts that align with the organization’s brand and target audience.
  • Research and prep interviews, book guests and recording sessions, cut tape, write scripts, add music, incorporate edits, and lay up sessions.
  • Provide smart, targeted editorial feedback and a skilled, creative ear.
  • Meet ongoing deadlines and manage fast turnaround needs.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment to create a supportive and efficient production process.
  • Work with ad sales and branded content teams to ensure ads are approved, recorded accurately, and shared with sponsors in a timely manner.
  • Develop audience engagement tactics to foster community and bring new listeners to the network.
  • Serve as an ongoing advocate and communicator for assigned shows across the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
