Producer - Part Time
Part Time, Non-Exempt position located in San Jose, CA. The pay range for this role is $18.45 - $20.91 per hour.
About the Role
The Part Time Video Producer supports SJ Sharks Productions by capturing, producing, and editing engaging video content that helps tell the stories of Sharks Sports & Entertainment both on and off the ice. This role contributes to a variety of digital content initiatives, including hockey, non-hockey, community, and promotional storytelling. Working closely with the Content and Game Presentation groups, the Part Time Video Producer assists in creating high-quality content that connects with fans across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate is creative, collaborative, and passionate about producing compelling sports and entertainment content while contributing to one of the industry's premier video production teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist in all phases of video production, including pre-production, production, and post-production for Sharks Sports & Entertainment digital platforms.
- Capture and edit video content for hockey and non-hockey events, including community initiatives, Foundation events, player features, sponsorship activations, and promotional content.
- Perform post-production tasks including reviewing footage, editing, color correction, sound mixing, graphics integration, and basic motion graphics.
- Assist with interview setup, including lighting, audio, and camera operation.
- Create content for social media, web, and other digital platforms.
- Help organize and maintain video assets within the department's asset management system.
- Collaborate with producers, videographers, editors, and internal departments to execute creative projects.
- Operate cameras and production equipment during practices, games, events, and other assigned shoots.
- Assist with game day and event production needs as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited university preferred.
- 1+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Creative Cloud. Experience with After Effects and Photoshop is preferred.
- Experience capturing and editing video content for digital and social media platforms.
- Familiarity with professional video production standards and workflows.
- Experience in sports, entertainment, or live event production is preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency with professional camera systems such as Sony FX3, Sony A9, Sony FS7, or similar equipment preferred.
- Understanding of video asset organization and file management best practices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
- Communicate via phone and email with a variety of individuals.
- Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead and lift up to 15 lbs with or without accommodation.
- Physically navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events with or without accommodation.
- Ability to work occasional extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays (all with advance notice).
- May be required to travel to other company locations.
- May be required to attend conferences, events, and training sessions within the Bay Area or in- or out-of-state locations.
