Producer, Digital Content
About the role
The Digital Content Producer will join WPEC's dynamic multi-platform team, contributing to impactful digital and social content that matters to our audience.
Responsibilities
- Collect and confirm information from primary sources to produce compelling and accurate copy on deadline.
- Multitask, juggle competing priorities, and manage time efficiently.
- Collaborate with the newsroom team on multi-platform strategy and support day-of content and ongoing editorial initiatives.
- Manage digital strategies and goals, keeping track and executing them consistently.
- Work collaboratively, willing to pitch in where needed.
- Use proficiency with non-linear editing software and newsroom systems like iNews.
- Understand CMS tools, SEO guidelines, and how to use video and graphics across various platforms.
- Experience with newsgathering, logistics, booking interviews, and managing a content calendar.
- May require working early mornings or nights.
Requirements
- Solid news judgment and ability to collect and confirm information from primary sources.
- Able to write compelling and accurate copy on deadline.
- Able to multitask, juggle competing priorities, and manage time efficiently.
- Possess strong communication skills.
- Collaborative team-player willing to pitch in where needed.
- Proficiency with non-linear editing (Adobe, Avid) and newsroom systems such as iNews.
- Understanding of CMS tools, SEO guidelines for multiple platforms.
- Understanding of how to use video and graphics to support content on all platforms.
- Experience with newsgathering and logistics, booking interviews, and managing a content calendar.
- May require working early mornings or nights.
Qualifications
- Must have at least two (2) years of previous newsroom experience at a commercial TV station or digital news platform.
- Familiarity with content management systems, social media platforms, photo and video editing.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, additional practical experience considered.
- Spanish fluency a plus.

Pay
Salary range: $50,000 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with some weekend work required.
