This role is responsible for driving new business growth, fostering strong client relationships, and delivering exceptional service to retain and expand our client base. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, a passion for networking, and the ability to thrive in a relationship-driven, team-oriented environment. How You'll Make An Impact New Business Development Generate new business opportunities and revenue growth through the sale of Personal Lines and Commercial Insurance solutions to new and existing clients. Identify, prospect, and cultivate relationships with individuals, families, and businesses to expand the client portfolio and increase market presence. Build and maintain a strong pipeline through networking, referrals, community involvement, client meetings, and industry events. Proactively pursue cross-selling and account-rounding opportunities across Personal and Commercial Lines. Collaborate with producers, account managers, and support teams to develop and secure new business opportunities. Client Relationship Management Develop trusted advisor relationships by providing customized insurance solutions that address each client's unique risk management and coverage needs. Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure satisfaction, retention, and identification of additional coverage opportunities. Partner with account management teams to deliver exceptional service and ensure a seamless client experience. Support policy renewals, coverage reviews, and ongoing risk analysis to strengthen long-term client relationships and retention. Sales Strategy & Execution Develop and execute an individual business development plan, including sales goals, prospecting activities, and revenue targets. Utilize agency technology, CRM tools, and market intelligence to identify opportunities, track prospects, and enhance client service. Conduct client presentations, policy reviews, and risk assessments to effectively communicate coverage recommendations. Host and attend networking events, community functions, educational seminars, and client appreciation events to build relationships and generate referrals. Team Collaboration & Leadership Work collaboratively with agency staff, carriers, and business partners to deliver comprehensive insurance solutions. Share industry knowledge, sales strategies, and best practices to support team success and professional development. Assist with client transitions, account transfers, and integration of new business opportunities. Foster strong internal relationships and contribute to a positive, client-focused culture aligned with agency values and growth objectives. About You Desired: 5+ years of sales experience (flexible for strong candidates). Proven ability to:Prospect and build a pipeline. Handle objections effectively and demonstrate tenacity and grit. Excel in networking settings and build strong client relationships. Retain clients and collaborate with account managers to ensure success. Professional certification preferred (CEBS, CPCU, CIC or ARM)Familiarity with the Chicago market and established local connections Required: Bachelor's degree, 1 year related experience, and appropriate insurance licensing required OR;Bachelor's degree, participation in Gallagher's Sales Internship Program (GSIP), and appropriate insurance licensing required OR;High School Diploma/GED and 6 years experience with appropriate insurance licensing required25–50% travel, primarily local (e.g., commuting into Chicago for events). Frequent client visits are integral to the team’s value proposition.
