Responsibilities

• Create a newscast that delivers unique content and distinguishes FOX6 from the competition.
• Maintain unwavering accuracy and demonstrate urgency in your news writing.
• Exhibit strong news judgment while managing multiple facets of the broadcast news production such as stacking, showcasing, and writing teases.
• Execute error-free newscasts from the booth, staying calm under pressure while communicating clearly with your team.
• Establish FOX6 as the go-to source for breaking news and demonstrate a strong understanding of the evolving broadcast business, including live streaming and maintaining an online presence.

Qualifications

• A college degree (preferably in Journalism) with a minimum of two years producing experience at a commercial television station.
• Excellent news judgment is required.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with the ability to pivot quickly in breaking news situations.
• A well-versed understanding of all aspects of journalism, from writing to sourcing through social networking.
• Experience producing or contributing to streaming or digital newscasts is strongly preferred.
• Non-linear editing skills are a plus.

Pay

$55,000.00 - $63,000.00 annually.

This is a morning position. May work holiday and varied hours as needed.
