Pay

Compensation range: $17.25 – $20.70 per hour (actual salary varies by location, education, experience, and qualifications).

Job Summary

Sort, display, remove, and replenish fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. Maintain the department’s environment by assisting members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensure all produce meets or exceeds company quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products, providing safe‑handling tips, and helping locate items.
• Inspect, rotate, and store produce upon delivery, ensuring it meets company standards.
• Rotate produce on the sales floor to maintain optimal freshness and variety.
• Keep cases and display areas fully stocked; maintain neat and clean produce displays.
• Remove products that are no longer suitable for sale.
• Maintain the produce reserve stock area, date and rotate all back‑stock items, and keep the storage area organized daily.
• Follow guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products.
• Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
• Clean and sanitize all produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including coolers and refrigerated cases.
• Generate signage for produce items and perform price‑check functions; ensure all items are accurately priced and signed.
• Adhere to all club policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including work in other departments when needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.

Qualifications

• Work experience in a produce department preferred.
• Knowledge of fruits and vegetables, including seasonal items, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Job Conditions

Frequent movement on hard surfaces; bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping. Lifting objects up to 30 lb regularly, with occasional heavier or awkward items requiring assistance. Work is performed in a comfortable indoor environment with frequent exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and coolers.
