Produce Clerk II (Full Time)

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service to guests
• Affixes orders and other special requests
• Takes orders and other special requests
• Answers the telephone and assists callers using proper phone etiquette
• Addresses guest concerns and resolves issues when a guest is not satisfied with the service or product received
• Brings concerns to the Produce Department Manager
• Stocks and maintains product levels
• Fills all items on display
• Makes sure products are rotated, using first in first out method
• Maintains display standards
• Maintains the sales floor clean and tidy; no messes or spills
• Maintains Produce supplies (i.e. roll bags, twist ties, etc.)
• Takes temperatures of everything regularly
• Fills out rotation sheets daily
• Records shrink daily
• Maintains Produce Cooler
• Maintains rotation of items within the cooler, first in-first out method
• Keeps the cooler clean and organized at all times
• Orders some product (i.e. dips, spices, herbs, etc.)
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel
• Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment
• Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
• Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises
• Knowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and must be able to make timely and effective decisions
